The combination of bright colors and exotic typography has paved the way for unique flat interfaces. Minimalism is a big part of this design idea, and you can see how popular these trends have become in recent months. Flat website design is a brilliant concept because it focuses solely on the content. But many designers are unfamiliar with the latest trends and don’t know where to get started.

Building for the web can be like building on quicksand. Browsers have tended to do mostly the same thing, but have occasional, maddeningly unpredictable differences. For example, browsers all come with “user agent stylesheets” — a default set of CSS styles, so that a heading looks like a heading etc., even before you style the page1. Of course, every browser engine uses a slightly different set of defaults.
An App for Generating Custom Skin CSS
A set of small, responsive CSS modules that you can use in every web project.
Responsive Web design has been around for some years now, and it was a hot topic in 2012. Many well-known people such as Brad Frost and Luke Wroblewski have a lot of experience with it and have helped us make huge improvements in the field. But there’s still a whole lot to do.
In this article, we will look at what is currently possible, what will be possible in the future using what are not yet standardized properties (such as CSS Level 4 and HTML5 APIS), and what still needs to be improved. This article is not exhaustive, and we won’t go deep into each technique, but you’ll have enough links and knowledge to explore further by yourse

Great Instant Documentation Search for webdeveloppers
With so many new trends advancing every year it can be difficult keeping up with the industry. Website designers and frontend developers have been deeply ingrained into the newer CSS3 properties, determining the ultimate browser support and quirky hacks. But there are also brilliant CSS2 code snippets which have been unrequited in comparison.

As long as there has been jQuery there have been image carousels created with jQuery. The famous jCarousel has been out since 2006, the same year the first version of jQuery was released. However, with the explosion of users now using their mobile devices for their internet browsing — on iPhones, iPads, and the like — it becomes necessary for jQuery plugins to support a good user experience on these devices. Enter Flexisel, the responsive image carousel with options specifically available for adapting the carousel for mobile and tablet devices.
Check out the demo here. Resize your browser window to see how you the plugin can adjust to the window width.
Flexisel will adapt responsively as the screen width gets smaller...

Image gallery lightboxes have been around for many years. They generally provide a great user experience until you attempt to load an image which is larger than the viewport dimensions. Developers often forget this important check and you’re presented with a centered image which is difficult to remove. The problem can be exacerbated on mobile devices.
Until recently, image lightboxes would need to implement several equations to determine the viewport and image dimensions then size and center accordingly. Fortunately, we can now rely on CSS3 media queries and transforms to do the hard work for us.

The problem with most CSS3 based breadcrumbs is that they use border based triangles for the arrows which is awful.
This tutorial also uses CSS Counters to number the breadcrumb links. The first breadcrumb displays the use of gradients for the links whereas the second demo uses flat colors along with transitioned hover effects for the navigation.
